Expertise:

Prof. H’ng’s expertise in carbon trading is evident in his advisory role to the Ministry of Green Technology in Malaysia. He developed a biomass carbon sequestration formula for Beijing Tianqing CDM Consultation in 2017 and contributed significantly to Malaysia’s GreenTech Master Plan.

Since 2015, he has represented Malaysia as the Country Representative for the International Standards Organization (ISO), focusing on harmonizing standards. He is also the National Timber Expert for ISO TC218 and Chairman of the Timber Technical Committee for the Malaysia Timber Industry Board (MTIB).

His research has earned him recognition, including the Best Book Category award at the Academic Publication Council of Malaysia (MAPIM) Award Ceremony in 2012. His interdisciplinary collaborations span agriculture, biotechnology, and engineering, emphasizing sustainable practices and innovations in biomass applications
